Welcome to Fit'n'Feisty

Welcome to Fit'n'Feisty! I'm a 26 year old mother of two incredible little boys, registered pediatric nurse and health nut! My favorite snacks used to be ice cream, handfuls of chocolate chips, and sugary cereals and it began at 14 when I wanted to learn more about losing weight. I remember going to the movies and picking Fuzzy Peaches because they were "Fat Free"!!

I wasn't Fit nor was I Feisty... I actually had a lot going on. I suffered from a common disease... self-hatred. This brought on social and generalized anxiety, depression and eventually an eating disorder because I just didn't know what else to do. Well, that turned into an emotional crutch and release. It wasn't easy and the only thing that pulled me through was the sheer desire to get better. I immersed myself in learning more and ended up misinterpreting and internalizing things... food rules developed, food fears, deeper criticism and lack of resiliency. I spent hours on bodybuilding forums talking to the smartest people, reading scientific articles and how we could manipulate our bodies with macronutrients like protein, carbohydrates and fats. Even water and sodium! While neglecting the importance of all those dozens of MICROnutrients! And of course exercise. I thought I had to cut out all bad food and spend 1.5hrs in the gym killing myself a minimum 5x a week and when that didn't happen I was a failure. It wasn't a nice place to exist and absolutely not something I wanted to model to my children.

SO many mistakes and setbacks to learn balance. To let go of unrealistic expectations, that what I kept trying to do wasn't working long term and that I was a big part of the problem and the way I was thinking. I believe in cupcakes and cookies, natural nutrition and supplementation to help accomodate that balance and living optimally healthy so I can be my BEST self, inside and out. I believe in constantly learning and growing and understanding that children will be more like how you ARE than what you say. And I believe that YOU can do anything, overcome anything, achieve ANYTHING! <3
